south end of frisco trail
to be paved?
Greg Hipp, cross country coach
at MSU, writes: "OMRR members might be interested in
knowing that we're about to lose the Frisco Trail as a
soft surface trail. It might be paved and turned into
just another sidewalk in the woods (that's what I think
of paved 'trails'). I'd encourage any OMRR members to
voice their concerns to Ozark Greenways and the OTO
staff and board of directors." You can
read an article about this and also visit
www.OzarkGreenways.org to read more and voice your
opinion. -

corner:
Here are some recent PRs (personal records)
set by Ozarks area runners. These are listed in two categories:
(1) actual-time PRs and (2) WAVA PRs (compare your recent times to your old PRs using the
WAVA calculator to see if you have a WAVA PR--read
more about WAVA). If you achieve a PR (actual or WAVA), email
RichardJohnson@MissouriState.edu ASAP with the
information you see below.
Each month, we will have a drawing for one $25 gift
certificate for every ten PR performances for that month
(we are glad to list any Ozarks runner's PR, but you
must be a current

certificate).
Note that the first time you run a race of a given

revoir:
We need volunteers to help with the Turkey Trot!!!
-
We will need a few people to help on Thursday the 19th of November
with packet stuffing. This basically amounts to putting
info into bags to be handed out at packet pickup. We
start around 9:00am and should be done by early
afternoon. The park board supplies a pizza lunch and
Turkey Trot shirts to all volunteers.
-
Wednesday the 25th of November is the packet pickup day at the
Medicom Ice Park on Trafficway and Kimbrough. We need
some volunteers for helping with packet pickup.
Hopefully for a couple a hours. Packet pickup will start
at 8:00am and run to 6:00pm. It would be nice if we
could find some people to help hand out packets. All
volunteers will receive a Turkey Trot shirt for their
help.
-
And of course on the morning of the race, Thursday the 26th of
November we will need help at the preregistration tables,
help handing out shirts and handing out race packets.
The race starts at 8:00am so the volunteers will need to
be their around 6:45 to 7:00am. Again they will receive
Turkey Trot shirts. Everyone who helps can still run the
race.
I will need to know the shirt sizes of all the volunteers and an
idea of when they may be available so I can try to fill
all the spots. Thanks for your help.
