omrr member of the month
The following OMRR members have been recognized for their outstanding athletic achievement and/or outstanding service to the running community. To nominate someone for OMRR Member of the Month, send an email to Pete Pyeatt (ppyeatt@aol.com) with the nominee's name and a brief description of their accomplishment(s). The accomplishment should have occurred during the award month. Also include the nominee's contact information (email address and/or phone number) and (if available) a recent photo (preferably in running gear). Preference may be given to those individuals who may not ordinarily receive awards.

The OMRR member of the month for December is Bob Dewar. He completed his 150th marathon at the Run for the Ranch in Springfield, MO, 12/27/09. | |

October 2009 |
The OMRR co-members of the month for October are Kristi Edwards and Chad Lakin. They both qualified for their first Boston Marathon at the Chicago Marathon. | |

September 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for September is Jamie Rigdon. Jamie is a new OMRR member from Mountain Home, AR. She had two PRs in September, one in a 5K and one in a half marathon. | |

August 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for August is Shane Luper. Shane is 15 and garnered two PRs in August (and several more in previous months). | |

June 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for June is Bruce Stansberry. Bruce achieved a PR at the difficult Hospital Hill Half Marathon in KC on 6/6/09. | |

May 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for May is Emm Foster. Emm is a new OMRR member and she had two PR's in May: the May Day 5K on 5/2/09 and the CASA 8K on 5/16/09. | |

April 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for April is Allyn Wollard. Allyn ran his first marathon at Oklahoma City in April and has been very active this year organizing local races. | |

March 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for March is Pam Sailors. Pam set yet another PR in March at the Strafford Relay for Life 5K (and Pam has been setting PR's consistently for the past year or two). | |

February 2009 |
The OMRR member of the month for February is Shari Wilder. Shari set a 5K PR at the Valentine Run, and a 10K PR at Polar Bear. She has also been active in starting several women's running groups in Nixa. | |

The OMRR member of the month for January is Jessica Lakin for achieving a PR at the Houston Marathon (1/18/09, 4:23:33). | |

The OMRR member of the month for December is Charles Smith for achieving a PR at the Christmas Mile on 12/20/08. | |

The OMRR member of the month for November is Nancy Ormsbee for achieving a PR at the Bass Pro Springfield Marathon on 11/2/08. | |

Rachel Baker set a marathon PR at the Heart of America Marathon on 9/4/2006 (Columbia, MO). | Bill Drummond completed the Hotter n' Hell 100 Mile bike ride on 8/26/06 and then ran the Heart of America Marathon the next weekend on 9/4/06. |

Linda Barnett, wife of Brent Barnett, has been volunteering at nearly all the races this year (including June), helping Craig and Mary time the runners. Her help is very much appreciated. I'm sure she has also been a huge help to Brent in his recovery. Thanks, Linda! | Kayleigh Amstutz, daughter of Dwight Amstutz, has just taken up serious running in the past year. She is only eight years old and has already run 10 races in 2006, including a 7:38 at the Cox Medical Mile and a 26:37 at the Aldersgate 5K. She is also involved in the St. John's/OMRR Runner of the Year program. |

Blake Jones![]() Blake (age 13) ran a PR at the very warm Bass Pro 10K on 5/20/06 in a time of 40:53, a 71% POWR rating. |
Shannan Parsley has volunteered much of her time from March through May at the Alpena School District in Arkansas (where she also teaches) to train about 50 youngsters and adults after school to run their first 5K. |

Mark Plucinski Mark (age 52) won the Grandmasters division at the very hilly Spirit of St. Louis Marathon on 4/9/06 with a 2:52:34, breaking an 18-year-old Missouri state record for the 50-54 age group by one second. This is Mark's fastest marathon in 18 years. |
Ian Alaimo Ian (age 29) ran a PR at the Boston Marathon on 4/17/06 in a time of 2:45:16, 251st finisher overall, fifth place finisher from Missouri and first from SW Missouri. Ian is also the co-Webmaster of omrr.org. |

Russ Traphagan Russ ran a PR at the Germantown 1/2
marathon in Memphis, TN, with a time of 1.23.08, 17th over all and 3rd in
his age group. Russ also volunteered at the Frisco High Line Run on 3/25/06. |
Mike Baxter Mike ran a 3:42 marathon at
Little Rock
only 8 weeks after surgery with a maximum 15 mile training run. |

Brent Barnett Brent ran his first marathon since his car accident, which occurred on
12/28/04, at the
Austin Marathon on 2/19/06 in a time of 7:03. |
Merrill Drummond Merrill ran her first 5K at the Valentine Run on 1/15/06 at the young age of 62. |

Trish Hopkins ran her first marathon at the Houston Marathon on 1/15/06 in 3:56. |
Rusty Manes Rusty organized the annual OMRR banquet, held on 1/21/06 in Springfield. |
